TransUnion Welcomes Heather Russell as the New Chief Legal Officer

After the recent announcements of John’s retirement as TransUnion’s Chief Legal Officer. The company has chosen a replacement. Heather Russell will be taking on the position effective June 4th. With over 20 years of experience in the financial and legal industry, Ms. Russell will make a strong addition to the company’s leadership team.

Russell comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the legal industry. Specifically, in fintech practices and financial institution regulations. Ms. Russell has held several high level positions for Fortune 500 companies. Including the position of Executive Vice President for Fifth Third as well as a Chief Legal Officer, Senior Vice President/ Associate General Counsel for the Bank of American. In addition, Ms. Russell has a background in mergers and acquisitions during her eight years at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP.

Heather Russel earned her BA from WA (College of William & Mary) in Williamsburg, VA and a JD from American University. Prior to her position at Skadden, Ms. Russell served as a law clerk for Claude Hilton, the Chief Judge of the US Eastern District of VA.

As Transunion’s New Chief Legal Officer, Miss Russell will be specifically responsible for legal, government compliance, and consumer privacy for TransUnion as well as a company’s subsidiaries. In this position, Miss Russell will be reporting directly to TransUnion’s president Jim Peck and serving on the company’s executive committee.
