Whitney Wolfe, the Bumble Dating App, and Her Money-Making Out-of-the-Box Thinking

American entrepreneur Whitney Wolfe is an individual who realizes that the only way to make money is to appeal to the needs of the public at large. In order to do this, sometimes a lot of out-of-the-box thinking is required. She founded the Bumble Dating App, but she didn’t settle for just being a copycat.

Oh no. Wolfe recently announced that the Bumble Dating App is going to pair up with an actual brick-and-mortar physical location for Bumble clients to meet with their dates. What did dating apps actual physical locations have in common before? Absolutely nothing, but that was before the genius of Whitney Wolfe began examining new ways to appeal to her clients.

Bumble’s new space is located in New York City and will be called the Hive. This month-long installment will be a place for people to date, hang out, or just enjoy fashion style themselves and relax. Soaking in the Bumble brand will definitely not come at a premium in this location because the area is decked in a flavor that is all-too familiar with Bumble fans.

This large focus on community is also a big step for Wolfe for another reason. It indicates her desire to expand her brand beyond just people who are looking to date but to retain those who are looking for professional and social networking unque dating as well.

The Bumble space is going to have both a coffee bar and a real bar and they are currently planning dating app on only having the Hive open for a month. Of course, that might change based on popular demand. They also are not ruling out expansions into other cities. The Hive’s will be open in New York City’s Soho neighborhood from 8 a.m to 2 p.m and 4 p.m to 10 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. On Saturday the location will be open from 10-2 and 4-10 and they will be open all day on Sunday.

Ambitious marketing such as this one is nothing new for Whitney Wolfe. She already has become well-known for being the co-founder of the dating app Tinder. Her new company is already competing very strongly against it.

Wolfe stared her first business at 19, and she graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in International Studies.
